Do you have to be Jewish to receive services at JFS?

No. All of our programs and services are open to all. JFS serves the entire Western North Carolina community: people of all faiths, ethnicities, races, religions, genders, ages and sexual identities. 

Do you accept insurance for counseling services?

Yes. We accept several insurance providers including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care, Aetna, Humana, WellCare and Cigna. Please contact JFS for more information.

What if I don’t have insurance?

JFS offers sliding scale payments for those who have no insurance. Please contact JFS for more information at 828-253-2900.

What are the qualifications for Faye’s Place? Is there transportation?

Faye’s Place is open to anyone ages 55-and-over following an assessment by our Program Manager. Scholarships are available for those who qualify. Transportation is available on an as available basis for those who qualify for it through Mountain Mobility in Buncombe County, and Apple Country in Henderson County.

Does JFS accept walk-ins?

Are you the same thing as the Jewish Community Center?

No. Although we were once located inside the Asheville JCC, JFS is its own 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency, with its own office. But we love our community partner!

Where are you located?

JFS is located at 53. South French Broad Ave., Suite 100 in Asheville. We are on the corner of French Broad Ave. and Hilliard.
